The UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, concluded a visit to Washington, D.C., where he met with senior United States government officials, as well as US and Yemeni experts, to discuss latest developments in Yemen and the region.
During the visit, the Special Envoy met with Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs to the US President, Massad Boulos, as well as other senior officials at the State Department and the National Security Council.
In his meetings, Grundberg stressed the need to keep Yemen from being drawn into the current regional escalation and to safeguard space for the peace process. He also emphasized the importance of sustained regional and international support for a comprehensive political process under UN auspices to end the conflict in Yemen.
