30 Sep 2022 - Over the past six months, the Government of Yemen and the Houthis have taken important and bold steps towards peace by agreeing to, and twice renewing, a nationwide truce negotiated by the United Nations. With the 2 October deadline for another extension quickly approaching, I strongly urge the Yemeni parties not only to renew but also to expand the truce’s terms and duration, in line with the proposal presented to them by my Special Envoy, Hans Grundberg. -

27 Sep 2022 - AMMAN, 27 SEPTEMBER 2022 - On Monday 26th September, UN Special Envoy to Yemen Hans Grundberg met with the President of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, in Riyadh to discuss ongoing efforts to implement and extend the truce. Grundberg briefed President Alimi on the latest developments and discussed the UN’s truce proposal. -
12 Sep 2022 - 12 September 2022 - The members of the Security Council highlighted the tangible benefits of the truce to the Yemeni people including a 60 per cent reduction in casualties, the quadrupling of fuel through Hudaydah port, and commercial flights from Sana'a allowing 21,000 passengers to receive medical treatment and unite with families.

31 Aug 2022 - Amman, 31 August 2022 – I condemn the attack that was launched from areas controlled by Ansar Allah on Sunday night in Dabab area in Taiz that left a number of soldiers killed or wounded and threatens to seriously worsen the humanitarian situation for civilians. -

04 Aug 2022 - The members of the Security Council welcomed the 2 August renewal of the truce in Yemen, which remains the most significant opportunity for peace and the protection of civilians that Yemen has witnessed in years. They stressed that the truce has provided a stable foundation to progress with talks on economic and security tracks, and to embark on in-depth and inclusive discussions on the political track.

02 Aug 2022 - AMMAN, 2 AUGUST 2022 – I am pleased to announce that the parties have agreed to extend the truce, under the same terms, for an additional two months, from 2 August 2022 until 2 October 2022. This truce extension includes a commitment from the parties to intensify negotiations to reach an expanded truce agreement as soon as possible. -
01 Aug 2022 - Amman, 01 August 2022 – The Supervisory Committee on the Implementation of the Detainees Release and Exchange Agreement between the parties in Yemen concluded its sixth meeting in Amman yesterday following six days of discussions to identify the names of detainees who will be released based on the numbers agreed upon by the parties in March 2022. -
24 Jul 2022 - Amman, 24 July 2022 - I condemn the attack that hit the Zaid Al Moshki residential neighborhood in Taiz that injured 11 boys and girls, mostly under the age of 10. A number of these children are reportedly in critical condition, and one boy has died of his injuries.
