SRSG Mahiga meets with Mogadishu Mayor Tarzin

25 April 2012 - SRSG Mahiga met earlier today with the Benadir Region Governor and Mayor of Mogadishu, Mahamoud Ahmed Nur "Tarzin" in Mogadishu. The discussions focused on the security and logistical arrangements for hosting the upcoming Constituent Assembly conference and the required international support for it. The two officials also elaborated on the importance of a coordinated public awareness and civic education campaign in order to educate the public on the threats of mines, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and terrorist threats.
