SRSG Mahiga meets with Turkish Ambassador

25 April 2012 - The UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Somalia, Augustine Mahiga met today with the Turkish Ambassador to Somalia, Dr. Kani Torun at the Turkish Embassy in Mogadishu. SRSG Mahiga expressed his appreciation for all the efforts, commitment and good work that Turkey has been doing for Somalia. The meeting came as a follow up from SRSG's recent visit to Ankara and in lieu of the upcoming Istanbul II conference end of May. Part of their talks was also the political preparations for the Traditional Elders conference that is going to select the members of the Constituent Assembly.
