UNPOS participates in a meeting at the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs

As part of its collaboration with IGAD, AMISOM and the Kenyan authorities, UNPOS participated on 29 October 2009 in a monthly consultative meeting on Somalia held at the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The participants noted the pressing security, development and humanitarian challenges, which the TFG faces. They acknowledged the urgent need for financial and material resources to help the Government in capacity-building and to strengthen its security institutions. The participants also noted the need to strengthen AMISOM and to work in a more coordinated manner.
