29 Mar 2020 - Amman, 29 March 2020 - The UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Martin Griffiths, is alarmed by the continuation and escalation of ground and aerial military activities in Yemen, in particular in and around Ma’rib governorate and the attacks against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia claimed by Ansar Allah.

26 Mar 2020 - Amman, 26 March 2020 - I was heartened to see the positive responses to the Secretary-General's call for a ceasefire from both the Government of Yemen and Ansar Allah. I expect the parties to adhere to their words and put the interest of the Yemeni people above all.

25 Mar 2020 - Echoing his appeal to all warring parties across the globe for a ceasefire, the Secretary-General calls today on those fighting in Yemen to immediately cease hostilities, focus on reaching a negotiated political settlement and do everything possible to counter a potential outbreak of COVID-19. More than five years of conflict have devastated the lives of tens of millions of Yemenis. The current fighting in Al Jawf and Ma’rib threatens to further deepen human suffering.

08 Mar 2020 - Wars exacerbate gender inequalities. Women become more vulnerable to gender-based violence, including sexual violence, loss of economic rights and deprivation of education. But, despite the disproportionate impact wars have on their lives, women are often underrepresented when it comes to negotiating peace or managing post-conflict transitions.

I’m very pleased to be here. And I want to be very clear with you the reason for this visit.
