16 Feb 2020 - Delegates representing the parties to the conflict in Yemen agreed on a detailed plan to complete the first official large-scale exchange of prisoners since the beginning of the conflict. This is a step towards the fulfillment of the parties’ commitment to the phased release of all conflict-related detainees according to the Stockholm Agreement.

03 Feb 2020 - Sana’a, Amman – 3 February 2019 — The UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Martin Griffiths, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen, Lise Grande and the World Health Organization Representative for Yemen, Altaf Musani welcomed today the launch of the medical air bridge operation that brought the first group of Yemeni patients in need of specialized medical assistance from Yemen to Jordan. -

19 Jan 2020 - Amman, 19 January 2020 – The Special Envoy for Yemen, Martin Griffiths condemns the escalation of military activities in Sana’a, Sa’dah and Marib governorates where airstrikes, missiles and ground attacks reportedly took place. Of particular concern is the aerial attack that hit reportedly the Al-Estiqbal military camp in Marib city killing by first counts at least 80 soldiers. -

28 Nov 2019 - The Special Envoy for Yemen, Martin Griffiths, welcomes the unilateral release of 128 Yemeni detainees by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. “I am grateful to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this move. This, together with other measures to de-escalate violence are proof of the parties’ good will and interest to provide a conducive environment for peace-making.

08 Nov 2019 - The UN special envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths met yesterday in Riyadh with H.R.H. Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Mr. Griffiths congratulated the Crown Prince for his leadership in successfully mediating the Riyadh Agreement between the Government of Yemen and the Southern Transitional Council. -

Women peace leaders with the deputy head of mission Muin Shreim after the briefing on the latest developments in the peace process.06 Nov 2019 - A diverse group of twenty Yemeni women peace leaders from across Yemen and the diaspora convened for a two-day meeting in Amman on 29 and 30 October 2019. The meeting organized by the Office of the Special Envoy for Yemen (OSESGY) aimed at consulting and gathering Yemeni women‘s perspectives on political and security arrangements, as well as on the agenda for the transition in Yemen. -

The signing of this agreement is an important step for our collective efforts to advance a peaceful settlement to the conflict in Yemen. Listening to southern stakeholders is important to the political efforts to achieve peace in the country.
