12 Oct 2024 - We are extremely concerned about the reported referral to “criminal prosecution” by the Houthi de facto authorities of a significant number of arbitrarily detained colleagues, including three United Nations personnel—two from UNESCO and one from the UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR)—who were detained in 2021 and 2023.

18 Sep 2024 - The UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, visited Tehran, where he held discussions with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and other senior Iranian officials and diplomats. Mr. Grundberg congratulated Minister Araghchi on his new role and expressed his aspirations for further regional collaboration to support efforts towards a peaceful end to the conflict in Yemen.

13 Sep 2024 - The Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, concluded a visit to the United Kingdom yesterday, where he held high-level meetings with senior officials. Grundberg engaged in discussions with Hamish Falconer MP, Permanent Under-Secretary of State for the Middle East, Afghanistan and Pakistan and Anneliese Dodds, Minister for Development at the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office.

29 Apr 2024 - The Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen (OSESGY) and the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation co-organized The Women, Peace, and Security Agenda in Yemen Forum in Madrid from April 23 to 26. The Forum brought Yemeni women peace advocates together with grassroots peacemakers, experts in gender and mediation, and representatives from non-governmental organizations and think tanks from around the world.
