30 Aug 2024 - The UN Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, recently concluded a series of discussions in Aden, Muscat, and Riyadh, focusing on the latest developments, economic challenges, and ongoing efforts to de-escalate the conflict in Yemen. Discussions also focused on the UN staff in arbitrary detention as well as on the need to allow the damaged M/T Sounion to be salvaged.

18 Jun 2023 - The eighth meeting of the Supervisory Committee on the Implementation of the Detainees Exchange Agreement has concluded today in Amman, Jordan. Based on the positive momentum achieved earlier in March in releasing a large group of detainees, the parties engaged in detailed, serious, and responsible discussions, emphasizing the necessity of achieving tangible progress to reach a gradual release of based on the “all-for-all” principle.

30 Mar 2023 - The Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen concluded on the 29th of March a two-day consultation with Yemeni women and men in Cairo, Egypt, on their vision and priorities for inclusive peace. The participants exchanged views on the challenges and opportunities related to gender inclusion in the peace process and women’s participation in public and political life in Yemen.

02 Oct 2022 - “The truce that began on 2 April 2022 has offered a truly historic opportunity for Yemen. Building on the positive outcomes of the past six months, I submitted another proposal to the parties on 1 October to extend the truce for another six months, with additional elements.”
