The Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, concluded a visit to the United Kingdom yesterday, where he held high-level meetings with senior officials. Grundberg engaged in discussions with Hamish Falconer MP, Permanent Under-Secretary of State for the Middle East, Afghanistan and Pakistan and Anneliese Dodds, Minister for Development at the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office. During the meetings, the Special Envoy highlighted economic challenges, rising tensions in the Red Sea, and broader regional dynamics, underscoring the impact on Yemen's peace process.

"Unified regional and international support for the United Nations mediation efforts is critical to effectively address the urgent needs of the Yemeni people and pave the way for a peace process that makes any progress lasting and irreversible.",  said Hans Grundberg, UN Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen. "I remain committed to amplifying the Secretary-General's urgent call to release all detained colleagues. I urge their immediate release, allowing them to resume their critical work and reunite with their families, who are longing for their safe return," he added.
