19 Dec 2024 - The Secretary-General is following with grave concern reports of Israeli airstrikes earlier today in and around the ports of Hudaydah, Salif and Ra’s Isa and on power stations in Sana’a in Yemen. He is also deeply concerned over the concurrent launch of ballistic missiles by the Houthis toward Israel that hit and badly damaged a school in central Israel.

18 Dec 2024 - A three-day meeting between the Office of the Special Envoy for Yemen and representatives from the Government of Yemen in the Military Coordination Committee took place last week in Amman to discuss the planning and management of ceasefires and transitional security arrangements.

06 Dec 2024 - The Secretary-General renews his call for the immediate and unconditional release of the humanitarian personnel arbitrarily detained by the Houthis. It has been six months since the detention of more than 50 personnel from the United Nations, international and national non-governmental organizations, civil society and diplomatic missions, in addition to four other UN personnel detained since 2021 and 2023.
