11 Jul 2025 - The Secretary-General strongly condemns the resumption of Houthi attacks on civilian vessels transiting the Red Sea, especially the attacks that took place over 6 to 8 July 2025. -
10 Jul 2025 - The UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, is deeply concerned by the recent escalation by Ansar Allah in the Red Sea, including the attack that led to the sinking of the commercial vessel Eternity C on 8 July, resulting in deaths, injuries, and individuals still missing. He extends his condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a swift recovery to those injured, and calls for the safe and prompt return of the missing to their loved ones. -

05 Jun 2025 - A year after the wave of detentions in June 2024, following more recent detentions and against the backdrop of past detentions, Council Members reiterated their strong condemnation of the ongoing detentions by the Houthis of personnel from the United Nations, national and international NGOs, civil society organisations and diplomatic missions. -
04 Jun 2025 - This week marks one year since dozens of personnel from the United Nations, non-governmental and civil society organisations, and diplomatic missions were arbitrarily detained by the Houthi de facto authorities in northern Yemen. Others have been detained since as far back as 2021. Today, we reiterate our urgent demand for their immediate and unconditional release. -

25 May 2025 - The UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, concluded a series of meetings in Riyadh, where he met with Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shayea Al-Zindani, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Yemen, Mohamed Al-Jaber, the United Arab Emirates’ Ambassador to Yemen, Mohamed al-Zaabi, and members of the diplomatic community.
