UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg briefed the UN Security Council. He highlighted what has been achieved in the three and a half months of the truce while he also pointed to the obstacles faced in implementation and efforts to overcome them. Mr. Grundberg outlined to the Council a way forward that includes extending, consolidating, and expanding the truce so that the benefits to Yemen’s population increase and progress is made toward a political settlement.
