UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg briefed the Security Council, noting that “Yemenis have been denied the possibility of living in peace for too many years,” stressing that “military approach is not going to produce a sustainable solution” as years of fighting in Yemen have only “destroyed Yemen’s institutions, economy, social fabric and environment.”
