    26 Oct 2017 - Amman, 25 October 2017 - The United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed concluded today a four-day visit to Riyadh where he met with Senior Yemeni and Saudi officials.

    10 Oct 2017 - Mr. President, The parties to the conflict in Yemen are pursuing a futile and cruel military conflict, which is eroding the path to peace. At the same time, the people of Yemen are suffering from an entirely man-made humanitarian catastrophe. Clashes and exchanges of heavy fire have continued on all major frontlines, including Taiz, Marib, al-Jawf, al Bayda, Hajjah and Sa’adah governorates, and the Saudi-Yemen border areas.

  • 16 Jan 2017 -    Aden- The UN Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed arrived to Aden today for meetings with President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, Prime Minister Ahmed bin Daghr and Foreign Minister Abdel Malik Mekhlafi. The Special Envoy’s visit to Aden comes after a week of meetings with senior officials from the Governments of Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar in Riyadh, Muscat and Doha.

  • 29 Nov 2016 -     The announcement by Ansar Allah and the General People’s Congress on the formation of a new government in Sana’a represents a new and concerning obstacle to the peace process and does not serve the interests of the people of Yemen in these difficult times. Such unilateral actions contradict the recent commitments provided by Ansar Allah and the General People’s Congress to the United Nations and to United States Secretary of State John Kerry in Muscat.
