  • 05 Jan 2021 - Amman, 05 January 2021 - The Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen Martin Griffiths will be visiting Riyadh and Aden in the next few days, to meet with the Yemeni President and the newly formed Cabinet.
  • 31 Dec 2020 - In a call with the Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Bin Mubarak, the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Martin Griffiths, reiterated his unequivocal condemnation of the cowardly attack on the Yemeni cabinet upon the arrival of its members to Aden airport which killed and injured dozens of civilians. Mr. Griffiths offered his sincere condolences for all those who lost loved ones and expressed hope for a speedy recovery for all the injured.
  • 31 Dec 2020 - The Secretary-General condemns the deplorable attack on Aden airport shortly after the arrival of the newly formed Yemeni cabinet, which killed and wounded dozens of people. He extends his profound condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the people and Government of Yemen. He wishes a speedy recovery to those injured.

  • 18 Dec 2020 - 18 December 2020 - The UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Martin Griffiths, welcomes the positive developments in the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, including the formation of the new Cabinet. He congratulates President Abdrabuh Mansour Hadi, the parties to the Riyadh Agreement, all political parties and components that supported and contributed to this process and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for successfully negotiating it.
  • 14 Dec 2020 - Today marks the second anniversary of the Stockholm Agreement, a diplomatic breakthrough that offered a glimmer of hope that an end to the devastating conflict in Yemen was at hand. Unfortunately, far more needs to be done to achieve that common goal – and the profound suffering of the Yemeni people has persisted.  
  • 14 Dec 2020 - The members of the Security Council condemned military escalation in Yemen, including in Marib, Hudeydah, and Taez, and called for engagement with UNMHA’s joint implementation mechanisms and implementation of the Global Ceasefire call detailed in resolution 2532 (2020). They strongly condemned the Houthi attack on oil facilities in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on 23 November.
